This is a 1991 LHD Land Rover Defender 90 Station Wagon, built at the Land Rover factory in Solihull, England. This unit spent all its life in sunny Menorca, Spain.

In February 2018, it was acquired by Defender&Friends as a clean, rust-free grey Defender 90 with cloth interior.

After six months of restoration, it was shipped to Charlotte (North Carolina).

Its power comes from a 2.5L inline-four 200Tdi turbodiesel engine paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The truck is being sold with a clean North Carolina title in hand in the seller’s name.

The LT 230 transfer box have a fixed set of new parts including a new taper roller bearings, the centre diff is checked and changed if necessary then shimmed up. Once the new parts are picked the first step in the build process is to lay the parts out on the bench for inspection, the gears are closely inspected paying particular attention to the condition of the centre diff and the wear pattern on the gear teeth.

When we rebuild a LT77 Gearbox, the unit is stripped down, washed in both Safety clean and hot wash tanks then the casings are shot blasted with glass bead, then painted. Once "Prepped" the stripped unit is sent to the build area in a plastic tub.

The boxes have a fixed set of new parts including bearings, baulk rings, gaskets and seals, approx 95% have a new mainshaft due to the spline wear they suffer from. Once the parts are picked the first step in the build process is to lay the parts out on the bench for inspection, the gears and shafts are closely inspected paying particular attention to the condition of the dogteeth and the wear pattern on the gear teeth.

Once built, the units are stamped with a number and a spec sheet filled out giving us info on the unit specification, who built it, when it was built and exactly what parts were fitted.
